Choose your preferred language
English, German, French and Spanish guiding can be arranged, subject to availability for the dates and route. Request your preferred language when you enquire so it can be considered alongside the destination and subject interests.
The language is matched to your booking; this does not mean that every guide speaks all four languages. If your party needs another language or a specialist level of interpretation, tell us what is required and we will check what is possible.
City visits, destination interpretation and specialist interests
Nairobi and city guiding
A private guide can help shape a city visit around history, culture, food interests or particular places you want to understand. Share the time available and any places already on your list so the proposed day remains realistic.
Nature and safari interests
If wildlife, birding, landscapes or photography is your focus, explain the interest and the destination. The proposed guide, vehicle and permitted activities need to suit the setting. A guide booking does not itself grant access to a park, conservancy or restricted activity, and wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed.
Families and mixed interests
Tell us children’s ages, walking tolerance and the pace that suits the group. Shorter visits, breaks and room for questions can make the day work better than trying to cover too many stops. Any activity age or access rules still apply.
Private guiding and transport are separate details
A private guide is reserved for your party for the agreed service. That does not make attractions, roads or public spaces exclusive, and it does not automatically include a private vehicle.
If you need transport, say so when enquiring. A guide, a driver and a driver-guide are different arrangements; the quotation should explain the role being booked and whether guiding and driving are provided by the same person. For a complete guided wildlife journey, see Private Safaris.
Define the day before you confirm
Your proposal should identify the date, destination, duration, language, meeting and finish points, and the guiding scope. It should also state whether transport, admissions, meals and other activities are included or charged separately.
If an activity needs a site-appointed guide, ranger or specific permission, that requirement must be considered in the arrangement. We do not use a private-guide booking to promise access outside the relevant rules.

You can request a guide for an individual visit without buying a safari. Request a private guide and we will check a suitable arrangement for your party.

Which languages can I request?

Can I request a guide for just a Nairobi visit?
Yes. Tell us the date, duration, meeting location and interests. A city visit can be requested without a full safari booking.
Is a vehicle included with the guide?
Only if the quotation includes it. Guiding, transport and any driver-guide arrangement should be specified separately so you know who is providing each part of the service.
Can the day be adapted for children?
Tell us the children’s ages, interests and practical needs. We can consider a suitable pace and programme, subject to the rules and suitability of the places and activities involved.
Can I ask for a guide with a specialist interest?
Yes. Describe the subject and the level of knowledge you need. Suitability and availability are checked for the particular request; a general guide booking does not automatically include every specialism.
Does private guiding mean exclusive access?
No. The guide’s time is reserved for your party for the agreed service. Venues and wildlife areas may still be shared with other visitors, and their access and activity rules apply.
Are entry fees and meals included?
The quotation states what is included. Admissions, transport, meals, ranger requirements and additional activities should not be assumed to be part of a guiding-only fee.
