Three coast nights and five coast nights can feel quite different after safari. The longer stay normally adds two complete days without another arrival or departure. When three nights can be enough
A three-night stay can work for a traveller who wants a compact change of pace and is comfortable keeping the programme simple. Protect the two complete days rather than loading both with departures and appointments.
You might choose one main optional outing and leave the other day open, or use both for rest. The point is to decide what you will omit as well as what you hope to do.
It becomes more demanding when the first evening is late, the last morning starts early and both middle days contain substantial activities. The stay still has value, but it should not be described to your party as several days with nothing to do.
What the fourth and fifth nights change
The longer stay gives more room to separate rest from exploration. You can settle in before considering an outing, leave a day unplanned or allow different interests within the party without feeling every choice consumes half the visit.
For a family, that may mean a day whose main purpose is an easy rhythm. For a couple, it may mean time at the accommodation as well as a meal or activity elsewhere. An active traveller may prefer more exploration, but should still account for the movement each outing involves.

A boat activity, guided visit or other excursion may involve a pickup, preparation and a return later than its headline duration suggests. Ask for the whole movement and keep its conditions separate from the accommodation booking.
If the outing is central to your stay, tell the planner early. It may affect which days are worth keeping flexible and whether three nights feels too compressed. If it is only a possible interest, avoid making the whole coast extension depend on it.

Compare the additional stay, not a daily average
Ask for the actual quotation difference between the two options using the same room, occupancy and meal basis where possible. Additional nights can change accommodation and meal costs without repeating every transfer already in the plan.
Do not estimate the extra amount by dividing a whole safari-and-beach package by its days. Nor should a longer stay be assumed to include an upgrade or discount. The specific date and room availability determine the proposal.
